다니엘 드 브루인은 세계 최초로 아날로그 프린팅을 할 수 있는 3D프린터를 만들었다.그의 작품은 소유권에 대한 철학적 통찰에서부터 시작했다.작가는 3D프린터가 개발된 후 필요한 물건을 스스로 만들 수 있으므로 우리 삶이 한결 더 편안해졌을 것으로 생각했다.그러나 예상과 달리 3D프린터를 통해 나온 결과물은 작가가 직접 만들었음에도 불구하고 자신의 것이 아닌 것처럼 느꼈고,그에 대한 질문으로부터 작품가 제작되었다.이 작품(기계)은 흙 점토를 재료로 도르래 시스템이 가한 압력으로 도자기가 완성된다.이 과정을 통해 나온 작품은 여느 도자 장인이 만든 것과 같은 형태로 완성된다.작가는 이 작품(기계)을 통해 나온 결과물이야말로 온전히 자신에게 소유권이 있는 작품이며,자신의 물리적 감정적인 모든 것이 투영된 온전히 작각 자신의 소유가 된다고 이야기하며 작업을 지시하고있다.

De Bruin built the world's first analog 3D printer.This work originated from a philosophical consideration of ownership.He expected that the development of the 3D printer,which gave users the ability to make objects as needed,would greatly improve life. Unexpectedly, what the artist created through 3D printers did not feel like his own,and the questions that arose led to the making of This New Technology.This piece (machine) utilizes pressure from a pulley system to extrude clay to shape a piece of pottery.The resulting product is indistinguishable from that created by a potter.The artist believes that the products of this machine are works of art,of which he can take full ownership,because it reflects wholly the artist's physical and emotional engagement.
